Hollywood actors turn singers!

Actors in the West are either cutting their own albums or starring as rock stars in films
Tom Cruise
Actor Tom Cruise is all set to don an entirely different avatar for his new movie Rock of Ages. The 48-year-old actor, who is known for his action movie, Mission Impossible, will be seen crooning in the big-screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. The actor, who took vocal lessons, plays fictional heavy metal star Stacee Jaxx in the movie. Cruise has been quoted as saying, “I’ve never done a musical, and I’m having a blast. I’ve always loved music. It’s fantastic.”
Tom Felton
Harry Potter star Tom Felton has landed a record deal and is set to release his album. Felton, 23, has signed with Indie label Six Strings Productions to produce an album, which he will write, play and sing himself. Felton has revealed that he began making music with friends as a hobby, before realising the tracks they were laying down were “quite credible”. He has also been quoted as saying, “I’m a keen musician. We have a great band behind us that has turned my nursery-rhyme songs into quite credible pieces of music.”
Scarlett Johansson
Despite her successful movie career, actor Scarlett Johansson is keen on music. She has earlier come out with two albums, and now wants to record the third. For this album, Johansson also wants to write her own songs. The star has been quoted as saying, “I would love to do another album. The spirit has not moved me yet in that direction, but I would never put that idea out. I had such an incredible time doing Break Up (her last album) that I think there might be something in there in the future.”

Jeff Bridges
Actor Jeff Bridges, 61, is bringing out his self-titled album on August 16, giving his fans a real life act of his reel portrayal of a former country music legend in the 2009 film Crazy Heart. The 11-track album is being produced by Bridges’ Crazy Heart collaborator and multiple Grammy Award-winning songwriter, musician and producer, T Bone Burnett. The music is an extension of the actor’s personal, professional, and musical friendship with Burnett, whom he has known for more than 30 years.
Robert Pattinson
British actor Robert Pattinson has reportedly landed a role as a rock star in a movie titled All Apologies. Pattinson, 25, who has always thought of himself as a musician rather than an actor, and has even claimed that his guitar is his best friend, is set to play rock legend Kurt Cobain. The film will showcase the life of the late Nirvana singer. Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, who is an executive producer on the project, has apparently zeroed down on Pattinson as the “number one choice” to play the rock star.  http://www.bollywood.com
